Respirator Inspection and Maintenance
RPE Inspections
As per Regulation 9 of COSHH in relation to the Maintenance, examination and testing of control measures, paragraph 181, thorough maintenance examinations, where appropriate, and tests of RPE should be made at least once a month or more frequently where the health risks are particularly severe.
The consultant will document the condition of each respirator on an RPE inspection report which will be provided to you upon completion of the works. This will include details of faults and remedial measures taken as necessary.
If consumable items need replacement, this will only be carried out with your approval as this will entail additional cost.
AEC will require a worktop and 240v power supply to be provided in a clean area of your site.
All respirators should be available for inspection at the scheduled time.
All respirators should be in a clean condition when presented for inspection. Some potential contaminants, such as asbestos dust, can place our consultants and others at significant risk. AEC reserve the right to refuse to carry out the inspection works where we feel that the health and safety of ourselves and others may be compromised.
