Respirator Face Fit Testing
Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is the last line in defence against exposure to airborne hazardous particles; failure to use, inspect and properly maintain the equipment could adversely impact the health of the wearer.
It is a requirement of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002, Control of Lead at Work regulations 2002 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 that all masks (excluding disposable) be regularly maintained and inspected.
A comprehensive face-fit testing service is available through AEC to ensure the wearer of the respirator receives the full benefits of the equipment and to assist employees to comply with the legislative requirements and industry regulations.
The service includes:
- Accurate face fit
- Respirator and filter selection
- Correct wear and use
- Inspection and competency
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Web based management of face fit testing and equipment maintenance
All respirators should be personally fitted and re-fits conducted at regular intervals, and following significant weight loss, weight gain or major dental work. To assist with monitoring and management schedules, AEC can provide monthly reporting to ensure appointments for face-fit testing and mask checks are made in a timely manner.
Face-Fit testing can be conducted at the AEC head office in Manchester or on customer location. Call the AEC commercial team on 0161 872 7111 to book a face-fit or mask check appointment.
