Legionella Consultant

Salary: TBD

Job Purpose

To be responsible for all aspects of water quality consultancy, including legionella risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Designing and continuously updating and improving water consultancy methodologies.

2. Assisting sales & marketing in identifying and retaining clients

3. Carrying out legionella risk assessments

4. Provide first class levels of customer service and deliver value to the client base.

5. Implementing management strategies for legionella control

6. Continuously monitoring and keeping up-to-date with current legislation

7. Designing and conducting training courses for clients

8. Being an expert in matters relating to legionella and water quality

9. Training new staff as required and carrying out technical reviews on colleagues reports

10 Liaise with clients and contractors and have a flexible approach to work

11 Achieve operational excellence and deliver on agreed operational and financial targets to production margin level.

12 Ability to deliver work on time and within budget.

Competencies/Person Specification:

We are looking for an individual who currently holds the S901 and ideally S902. You should have a good knowledge of L8. Ideally you will have a consultancy background although we will consider individuals who have gained their water experience from Industry, public or private sectors

We need a flexible, motivated, self starter, who enjoys working on your own initiative but can also fit well into a team. An effective communicator with good presentation skills you already have experience of working with clients and would feel comfortable delivering training courses. This is not a desk position, you will be expected to go to site and undertake works, climb ladders, access and trace pipework and take samples were needed. Report writing skills are a pre- requiste for this role, the candidate must be able to construct a detailed and informative report with drawings and accurate recommendations. In some cases you will be expected to present your reports to clients.

Good IT skills are essential as is a current driving license.

Casual Assistant Surveyor

Salary: TBD

Job Purpose

As an Assistant Surveyor, the role shall include assisting asbestos surveyors, airborne fibre monitoring and analysis in a range of industrial, commercial and residential properties.

Key Responsibilities include:

Working as a team with other members of the AEC Team.

Assisting the lead surveyor, which includes carrying equipment, drawing sketches of buildings, taking and labelling samples, recording information etc.

Liaising and building rapport with clients/contractors.

Ensure that files/general paper work is filled in correctly and to a high quality.

Develop a professional approach when representing AEC on site.

General administrative/filing duties - where required.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.

Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.

Work with Microsoft office programs e.g. word & excel to create reports for works carried out.

Attend all mandatory training sessions as required by the AEC.

Competencies/Person Specification:

We are currently recruiting for a number of individuals to work for AEC on a casual basis. Effectively we are looking for individuals who would be happy to work as many hours as required, some weeks this could be full time and others less hours, depending on the needs of the business.

Our ideal candidate can work well under pressure and be flexible. They would also be physically fit able to carry and climb ladders, toolboxes and other site equipment. In addition possess a professional attitude towards work, be punctual, and take a pride in their personal appearance. Adherence to relevant health & safety procedures is a must. You should also be computer literate.

Current driving license and your own transport is essential.

Resource Planning Consultant

Salary: Based on experience

Job Purpose

This role will involve resourcing work for a team of more than 40 technical staff across a number of work areas. Booking and liaising work with our customers and ensuring that you review utilization and project deadlines on a day-to-day basis. Making good decisions and feeding this back to the Directors/management team with regards to availability.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Use of Microsoft Office, including the ability to update and manipulate Excel spreadsheets and databases.
  • Use of a bespoke resourcing system to book projects.
  • Ensuring that AEC's technical staff are 90% utilized.
  • Ensure that files/general paperwork is completed correctly and to a high standard, with the support of an administrator.
  • Liaising with customers and internal AEC project managers to book relevant work in and manage planned work on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure you work with your resource colleague on the reactive basis and discuss the best options in order to achieve the utilisation targets.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Operations Management team to discuss the forthcoming weeks and discuss resource progress and solutions for any issues that may arise.

Key Skills required:

  • A self starter, the ability to organize own workload, plan ahead and achieve deadlines.
  • A clear and responsive communicator to people at all levels.
  • Demonstration of a similar logistical/organizational role, ideally within a similar people services business.
  • Organisational/co-ordinator/office experience essential.
  • Full use of advanced Excel/Microsoft packages.
  • You must be able to think on your feet and work well under pressure whilst remaining flexible.
  • Proven track record where use of strong organizational skills, ensuring a proactive approach on a daily basis is essential.
  • High level of customer service/building relationships/co-ordinating events, projects, people/meeting financial deadlines.
