Quality Assurance
AEC have made a firm commitment to Quality Assurance, and continue to develop in-house quality procedures and systems to meet customer demands and expectations of our business.
We are a member of Construction Line, ATAC, CHAS and a CSCS Platinum certificate holder.
To date the following has been achieved in the area of asbestos consultancy:
- UKAS accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 for asbestos fibre counting and identification.
- UKAS accredited for water absorption testing and gravimetric weighing (Accreditation No. 2054).
- UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 for surveying and sampling asbestos
- (Type C UKAS inspection award No. 232).
AEC is a participant in the ‘Regular Inter-laboratory Counting Exchange’ scheme (RICE). Since October 1997 achieving excellent results and the AIMS scheme – Asbestos In Materials Scheme.
All air testing performed by AEC is carried out in accordance with HSG 248 (The Analysts Guide for Sampling, Analysis and Clearance Procedures).
AEC have a dedicated analytical team, this team ensures that we provide a full range of air testing services during asbestos removal / remediation work. All air testing performed by AEC is UKAS accredited and is carried out in accordance with current legislation.
All Bulk samples taken will be analysed by dispersion staining and polarised light microscopy in accordance with the HSE method HSG248.
All surveys are carried out and reported to HSG 264 ‘Asbestos The Survey Guide’.
AEC have been assessed and approved for inclusion on the Construction Line Scheme. This is a national database of companies, which have to provide evidence both technically and financially prior to inclusion.
To date the following has been achieved in the area of legionella consultancy:
- Approved as a member of the LCA 'Legionella Control Association'.
To date the following has been achieved in the area of training services:
- Member of the BOHS - 'British Occupational Hygiene Society'.
- Member of UKATA - 'United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association' for Asbestos Awareness and Non-licensed Asbestos Removal Training.
