Our Team - Each member of AEC's team is part of your solution
Our Site and Laboratory staff are highly trained and skilled, usually in more than one service area. They are on site working and writing reports for clients for, on average 85% of the time. The remainder of their time is dedicated to ongoing training and the quality control requirements of the company. We have five levels within the Site and Lab team, Assistant surveyor, Analyst, Lead surveyor / consultant, Senior consultant and Manager. The majority of the training that our staff receive is performed in house by Managers and Directors who have 20 years + experience in the industry. Indeed AEC prides itself on being one of the largest vocational training providers in the UK for our industry sector. We are in the unique position of having trained most of our competitor's personnel. Staff are encouraged to climb the "Technical Ladder" and are rewarded with every step they take. Our strength as an organisation is the well thought out and detailed way in which we train staff not just technically but also on how to support clients and deal with issues professionally.
Our Support Staff are a vital part of AEC they are able to ensure that technical and operational staff are assisted with all the important back office work that goes into every project from phone calls, booking specialist equipment for site works, ordering in all site / lab consumables, report production, invoicing, staff organisation, project management and updating software - all of these areas and lots more besides need to be efficient in order that we project a professional image on and off client sites. A lot of our support staff are also trained in technical disciplines some actually can, and do, undertake site works - so in an emergency or if someone phones in sick we can still make sure we get the work done.
Our Commercial Team is made up of field-based as well as office based staff that are dedicated to meeting the needs of our clients. Our Commercial Team members, in most cases, sit BOHS and other technical training courses in the same way that our technical and onsite staff do. The technical knowledge that they develop through this training demonstrates to clients that we can provide well thought out and comprehensive quotes and advice, tailored to suit the client's needs and budget whilst conforming to current best practice and legislation.
We are under no illusion that our most important asset are the people who work at AEC - We sell peoples time and expertise to clients who need advice in areas they may be unfamiliar with.
